2014 RSPCA Million Paws Walk
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary the 2014 RSPCA Millions Paws Walk will take place on Sunday the 18th of May at Geelong’s Eastern Park along with 15 other locations around Victoria.
The day starts 9:00 AM at the rotunda next to the Geelong Botanical Gardens and will include a casual walk around the park’s circuit starting at 10:00 AM, a distance of about 2 kilometres.
The day will also feature a great animal expo with stands offering pet care advise, pet care products and grooming. For those fashion conscious pooches there will even be a special range of Million Paws Walk merchandise. There will also be a delicious BBQ. The Geelong Football Club’s Half Cat will be there to greet the crowd along with plenty of local performers and a few surprises plus giveaways and plenty of fun.
The Million Paws walk is a fund raiser for the RSPCA and also a message to spread awareness to prevent animal cruelty, that sadly is a problem that that just will not go away. The RSPCA is leading the fight in protecting animals of all types. They also provide shelter, care and veterinary treatment for lost, abandoned and rescued animals, giving many a second chance in life. This event is a wonderful way for people to help this important community based not for profit organisation.
Dogs of all sizes, shapes, breeds and ages are welcome to register for the event the more the merrier. Last year the event raised nearly half a million dollars throughout the state and this year it hoped this year the tally will be even bigger.
The best idea is pre-register and then get to Eastern Park early as the first 800 participants to collect their sticker will get a free showbag full of goodies.
