2014 Rotary Torquay Motor Show
The Torquay Rotary Motor Show is back in 2014 for its 7th year on Sunday the 9th of February, and this year the event promises to be the biggest and best yet cementing the event as the premier motoring event on the Surfcoast.
Held on Torquay’s spectacular foreshore the Elephant Walk the event is expected to attract over 250 vehicles of all makes and models and a crowd in the vicinity of 6000 people.
The event is the major fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Torquay and over the seven years has used the event to raise funds and awareness for a range of worthy causes including Interplast a not-for-profit organisation giving life changing surgery to people in the Asia Pacific region who can not afford it and Parkinson’s Victoria.
This family friendly event overlooking the spectacular ocean, will feature some great entertainment and there will also be plenty of food vendors on site to make a great day of it.
The event attracts a huge array of vehicles of all types, including local favorites, exotic sports cars, historic and classic vehicles and the ever popular muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s. The show even attracts a number of motorcycles trucks and a few weird and wonderful vehicles that are rarely seen.
For the first time this year a new exhibition class has been added. The Tradies Ute Class promises to be a huge hit, with plenty of Commodore, Falcons battling it out with some pretty impressive pickups.
The event begins at 8:30 AM, with judging taking place from 11:00 AM, running until mid afternoon after the 3:00 PM award ceremony.
