NightJar Festival
The NightJar Festival is back for 2015 returning to the Spring Creek Reserve in Torquay on Thursday night. between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The Nightjar is part market, part international food expo and part independent artists festival. This is the second of the Torquay market this year, taking place every Thursday in January before moving to Geelong’s Johnstone Park for the Friday’s in February.

Lorne Mountain to Surf
In its 33rd year the Lorne Mountain to Surf is a 8 kilometre run that begins in Lorne and travels deep into the forest along the magnificent Great Ocean Road and returning to the Lorne Surf Life Savings Club. This year the race moves to a 8:30 AM timeslot to cater for the possible event of hot weather. Powerhouse Festival
The abandoned Powerhouse over looking Corio Bay at North Geelong has been transformed into an amazing piece of art. Dozens of artists have painted the old concrete and metal into what is probably Australia’s largest gallery of legal street art. The Powerhouse can be found off Mackay Street behind Pilkingtons. Food Truck Friday
The visiting food trucks in the Geelong Mall were one of the highlights of 2014 and the great news is they are back for 2015. This Friday is their first visit for the year and there promises to be some tasty treats on offer. Leave you lunch at home and come down to the mall Friday for some delicious food.

Russell Morris Live
Another of Australia’s legendary performers is coming to the Geelong region in a fund raiser for the Karingal Foundation. Russell Morris will be performing at 13th Beach Golf Links in Barwon Heads for this special night. The Aria Award winning artist will be performing some of his huge hits including Real Thing and songs from his Sharks Mouth and Van Dieman’s Land albums. Portarlington Mussel Festival
One of the Bellarine Peninsula’s biggest events, the Portarlington Mussel Festival is back for 2015 with plenty of fun and plenty of those succulent and juicy mussels. The festival attracts crowds in the vicinity of 30,000 and features a full day of entertainment with bands, buskers and other performers. There will be art shows, classic car displays, cooking demonstrations, markets and a wide array of food vendors plus lots of muscles, with the freshest on sale direct from the fishing boats on the pier. The event starts at 9:30 AM and runs through until 5:00 PM

Lorne Pier to Pub
One of Australia’s premier surf events the Lorne Pier to Pub is back for 2015 for its 34th Year. The race is regarded as the largest open water swim in the world and covers a course of 1.2 km from the Lorne Pier to the foreshore in front of the historic Lorne Pub. The event is ran by the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club and due to the popularity of this race entry is by ballot. For more information visit www.lornesurfclub.com.au

Geelong Classic Truck and Vintage Machinery Show
The Geelong Showgrounds in East Geelong will once again host the annual Classic Truck and Vintage Machinery Show. This fantastic show is a chance to see many items of a bygone era up close and in operation. There will be farm machinery, stream and oil driven machinery, vintage cars, trucks and motorbikes and even a saw mill display. This is a wonderful show and there is so much to see and enjoy for the whole family. The show runs between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Greenstock
The Greenman Rehersal Studio is holding GreenStock in Ocean Grove with a fantastic lineup of entertainment. Performing on the bill will be Rockdogs, Crowbait, Kopious, Skabang, Los Tacos, In the Esky, Jill Meehan and Feathers of a Brother. THere will be a BBQ, raffles and plenty of fun. Its a BYO event and runs from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM 2/1 Smithton Grove Ocean Grove.

International 14 World Championships
The Royal Geelong Yacht Club is hosting the 2015 International Class Championships on Corio Bay leading up to their fantastic Australia Day events. The International 14s are recognized as one of the world’s oldest premier sailing classes and has attracted around 100 entries from around the world. There should be some spectacular sights on Corio Bay during the event that is expected to further cement Geelong as a world class sailing destination.
