Worlds Longest Lunch
Steampacket Gardens will host the Worlds Longest Lunch for the St John of God Pathology in what will be a wonderful afternoon of culinary treats. Local chefs featuring include -Jan Solovic from Empire Grill, Daniel Brehaut from Black Bull Tapas Bar & Restaurant, Alex McIntosh from the fabulous Zigfrids Dining Hall & Bar and Dwayne Bourke from Flying Brick Cider Co just to name a few. All Holden Day
The red team will be celebrating at the Geelong Showgrounds when the Geelong FX – HX Holden Car Club presents the 11th annual All Holden Day. The day will see over 700 Holdens from all eras of the motor company’s extraordinary history and several interesting imported GM models are also expected. Gates open to the public at 9:30 AM and he show runs through to around 4:30 PM. Read More

Color Me Rad
Colour Me Rad 5K returns to Deakin University at Waurn Ponds for another colourful celebration. This event is a 5 km race where participants are covered with a technicolor spray of colour. The event inspired by India’s Holi Festival was has been sweeping the world and Geelong got involved for the first time in 2014. This event is open to all ages and is ran by the YMCA with proceeds going back into the community.

Kana Festival
Colac celebrates its annual Kana Festival with a huge parade along Murray Street starting at 1:00 PM. This year featuring the theme “How Does Your Garden Grow”. The parade will see community groups, bands, classic cars and even some farm and emergency machinery put on a wonderful display. The parade is followed by a huge afternoon of fun in Memorial Square with markets, food, music and lots of family fun.

Gatorade Triathlon
The fourth race of the Gatorade Triathlon Series will take place at Portarlington with some 1700 athletes expected to compete. The race is open to people of all experience levels from first timers to the elite triathlon athlete. The race starts at 8:30 AM with presentations expected around 10:45 AM.

Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon
The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is a great day for the whole family! Open to 7-15 year-olds, the event includes a swim, cycle and run component as well as an event village full of fun activities for the whole family, including those too young to participate in the TRYathlon.
The event village includes footy and cricket practice zones, Springfree Trampolines, a free Weet-Bix breaky and a whole lot more!
The event aims to motivate Aussie families, and in particular, Aussie kids, to lead active and healthy lives, and create the confidence and self-belief to simply give things a try. It’s all about participation, with every TRYathlete (participant) receiving a medal at the end. Entries can be made by downloading the form here and bringing the filled-in form to the event Sunday morning no later than 7:45am.

Irish Folk Festival
St Patrick’s Primary School in West Geelong is holding their annual Irish Folk Festival on their school grounds in what has become a fantastic event over the past few years. The day sees lots of fun activities on the oval including rides and the ever popular leprechaun drop. There are market stalls, food and some great Irish music. The fun starts at 11:00 AM and runs through until 4:00 PM

Little River Country Fair
The small township of Little River to the north of our city is holding the 25th annual Little River Country Fair at the Little River Primary School. This fun family day starting at 10:00 AM will see auctions, animal farms, lots of tasty food, entertainment including a bagpiper, market stalls and lots of family fun. It should be a great day.

Geelong Harley Davidson Cancer Run
Hundreds of bikes are expected to take place in the Geelong Harley Davidson Cancer Run starting from Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds Car Park. Barwon Heads Festival of the Sea
The Barwon Heads Festival of the Sea returns to the banks of the beautiful Barwon River between the 11th and the 15th of March for 2015.
The major day is the Sunday when thousands are expected to visit the seaside township to enjoy the huge festival and the famous Duck Race that has become the major highlight of the event. Read More
