Festival of Sails
One of Geelong’s favorite events the Festival of Sails returns to the Geelong waterfront for the Australia Day weekend in what looks like being the biggest and best yet. This year hundreds of the country’s best yachts will be battling it out on Corio Bay while tens of thousands of people will flock to the waterfront for a weekend of music, food and fun. Read More

Australia Day at Rippleside
Every Australia Day thousands of families flock to the grassy slopes of Rippleside for a magnificent family day full of food, rides and free entertainment including the Dame Edna Average and Dazzling Dan the Magic Man. After an incredible inaugural event last year the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race is back for 2016 in what promises to be an even bigger event. Nightjar Festival Torquay
The popular Nightjar Festival is back for 2016, with Torquay hosting the festival on each Thursday in January before Geelong gets it turn in February. The festival starts at 4:00 PM and runs through until 10:00 PM with market stalls, arts and crafts, activities and some amazing performances. Jessie Jackson, Gena Rose Bruce, The Evening Cast and the Mojo Corner are this weeks special guests.

Model Railway Exhibition
The Corio Model Railway Club are holding the 41st annual model railway exhibition at the Geelong West Town Hall. The show is a fantastic experience and wonders young and old. There will be dozens of beautiful railway displays many taking hundreds of hours to build. The exhibition is also a great place to talk to the experts and buy model railway sets and equipment.
