2017 Festival of Sails
The Royal Geelong Yacht Club is once again hosting the Festival of Sails on Corio Bay and Geelong’s waterfront this January in a tradition that dates back to 1844.
This year the water event runs between the 21st and 24th of January with much of the shoreline activities happening on the evening of the 25th and all day on the 26th of January including an incredible fireworks display and RAAF Roulettes performance over Corio Bay to mark Australia Day.
The waterfront will play host to some amazing entertainment on several stages located throughout the precinct. There will be markets, food, roaming entertainers and lots of family friendly fun.
The week of activities will see around 300 yachts and close to 5000 competitors battling it out on Corio Bay in 15 different race series, in what promises to be a spectacular sight making it the largest annual keel boat regatta in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the biggest in the world.
