Gala Day will return to the streets of Geelong on Saturday the 10th of November in what will mark the 102nd anniversary of this Geelong family favorite that has been enjoyed by generations.
The huge street parade is one of the most fun events in the Geelong calendar attracting thousands of families who line the city streets to enjoy the fun and spectacle.
Dozens of floats, marching bands, colourful costumes community groups and local businesses take part in the vibrant and exciting parade bringing joy to young and old.
Expect to see some of Geelong’s favorite people including some of Geelong Football Clubs biggest names and a few familiar faces from TV and radio taking part in the parade. There will be plenty of our favoirte characters including the Geelong Hospital’s own Dr Bear who always takes part in the parade and word is Santa will also be making his first appearance for the season at Gala Day.
Gala Day is a fund raiser for the Geelong Hospital Kids Appeal and this year proceeds will go towards a brand new Kids Rehabilitation Centre.
Once again the Gala Day Parade will be a twilight event, starting at 7:30 PM, travelling along Malop Street and turning down Moorabool Street towards the Geelong Waterfront.
