This year’s Royal Geelong Show promises to be bigger than ever with four days of fun for the whole family. Along with all the usual fun like carnival rides, animals and showbags this year’s show has plenty of new and exciting attractions.
Monster trucks are sure to be one the show’s highlights with shows every lunch time over the four days and afternoon and evening shows on most days. Monster trucks won’t be the only amazing machinery on the main arena, be sure to catch the tractor parade that will take place on Friday and Saturday around lunch time and look out for a Jet Car that will also be making a loud appearance with daredevil Dynamite Dave at the wheel.
Whip cracking is another new feature at this years Geelong Show, you can see the spectacular show on Friday and Saturday around 8:00 PM a little before the fireworks light up the Geelong sky, both nights with what is promised to be a spectacular display.
Once again the Royal Geelong Show will have some of the regions finest animals, there will be hundreds sheep with the finest of wool, dairy and beef cattle, goats, dogs, budgies, poultry and some of the most magnificent horses competing in a number of events on the main arena. Be sure to visit the animal nursery and get up close with pigglets, chickens, baby goats and other beautiful animals.
Around the area there will be plenty of free activities to enjoy including the wood chop, historic machinery shed, arts and crafts, shearing displays, a fun circus challenge and even terrier races.
For a bit of fun there is the amusement area to explore with plenty of new thrilling rides and plenty of old favourites including the big wheel and mad mouse roller coaster. Sideshow alley will be full of fun challenges including the ever popular laughing clowns and show foods, including dagwood dogs, fairy floss and all the show fare.
Kids will love the showbags, this year there are plenty to choose from including the always popular Freddo Frog, Caramello Koala and some fun novelty bags full of weird and wonderful products.
For a bit of fun straight from Geelong’s popular Piano Bar Friday evening will see a performance entitled Tractors and Dolls that should be a bit of fun with some sharp comedy and fun tunes.
