Country Legend Kris Kristofferson
One of the biggest names in country music, the legendary Kris Kristofferson is coming to Geelong and will play the Geelong Arena on Saturday the 5th of April as part of his part of his 2014 Australian tour.
Kristofferson is in Australia on the back of his brand new album Feeling Mortal and will be playing a few tracks from that and many old favourites from his decades of chart topping hits. On this tour Kristofferson will be playing solo and acoustic which will make for a great evening of music.
Some of his most well-known tracks include Me and Bobby McGee, For the Good Times and Help Me Make it through the night, just to name a few. During his 50 odd year career he has played with the cream of the music industry and for a time he was a member of the Highwayman a supergroup of country music featuring Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and the man in black himself Johnny Cash.
In 2004 he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, but Kristofferson is much more than a country performer and writer, he is an all-round entertainer, he has even won a Golden Globe Award for acting opposite Barbara Streisand in the classic movie “ A Star is Born”.
Kris Kristofferson is only the first of a list of huge names coming to Geelong over the next few months, so stay tuned for news.
Tickets are selling well so book early to avoid disappointment. The reviews from the South African tour where he played Capetown’s Grand Arena on the 26th of March, have been glowing so Geelong fans are going to be in for a real treat.
Geelong fans also have the advantage of the Geelong Arena, that transforms into a fantastic concert venue all seats have magnificent close up views of the stage, unlike some of the larger venues in Melbourne where the band are like specs far away in the distance.
