The Spirit of Anzac is a special interactive touring exhibition looping Australia as part of the commemorations for the centenary of the Anzac period.
Geelong is lucky enough to be one of the 23 cities chosen to host this exhibition that will run between the 21st and 27th of February at the Geelong Arena.
The exhibit features 200 artefacts from the Australian War Museum in Canberra and some incredible themed exhibition areas that trace the footstep of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers, sailors, airmen and nurses who served in the campaign.
The exhibition was first held in September of 2015 and will travel to Orange, Newcastle and Sydney before concluding in April with around quarter of a million visitors seeing the incredible display. The exhibition has rewired 10 B Double trucks to take it on the over 150,000 km journey around Australia. It has taken around 400 researches, designers and curators two years to bring this exhibition to reality and design the most technologically advanced exhibition to ever tour Australia complete with museum grade air quality and security to protect the priceless artefacts.
The Spirit of Anzac is a once in a life time chance to see such an important and precious collection of objects, stories and recollections of the Anzac legacy that has helped to shape our nation and is only in Geelong for this week.
