Fiji Fundraiser

Nine students from Deakin University  have been accepted into the Global Citizenship Program (GCP) and need your help. The GCP at Deakin acknowledges involvement in international programs throughout a student’s degree. Such activities include a semester on exchange, international volunteering and mentoring incoming international students.

As a part of the GCP, they have been selected to lead an international volunteering project to build a pre-school in a disadvantaged rural village in Lavena, Fiji.  They are now undertaking to raise $5,000 to purchase the relevant building materials and basic tools to build the pre-school. We plan to visit the village for two weeks in June 2012 to collaborate with their community and assist in the construction of the pre-school.

This project is in affiliation with ABC Dreams- an international Project of the Rotary Club of Templestowe, Melbourne which raises funds to help children in the Asia-Pacific region complete their education.
