The Geelong Waterfront came alive over the Australia Day long weekend as thousands gathered to celebrate the iconic Festival of Sails. With perfect summer weather setting the scene, the event once again delivered an exciting mix of on-water action and vibrant shore-side entertainment.
Visitors explored a bustling array of gourmet food stalls, lively markets, and family-friendly activities, with crowd-favourite band The Mik Maks keeping the little ones entertained. From thrilling yacht races to relaxed waterfront dining, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Music and entertainment took centre stage, with standout performances from this year’s lineup, including Good Faces for Radio, Sam Sam but Different The Southern River Band, and the ever-popular Queen tribute act, Queen Forever. Their electrifying sets kept the energy high throughout the weekend.
New to the festival this year was Paddock by the Bay, a stylish bar nestled under a grand teepee, offering a perfect spot to unwind. The Emerging Artist Stage at Farnie Park, near the yacht club entrance, also made its debut, showcasing incredible up-and-coming talent.
With a fantastic atmosphere and a diverse range of entertainment, the Festival of Sails once again proved why it remains a highlight of Geelong’s summer calendar.
