Once again Geelong’s waterfront came alive when thousands attended the Australia Day weekend at the 2010 Audi Victoria Week under glorious sunshine. There were a host of festivities on and off the water, with some great boating action on Corio Bay and a full calendar of shoreline entertainment.
The Steampacket Garden stage came alive over the weekend with performances from big name 80’s artists like Uncanny X Men’s Brian Mannix, Scott Carne from Kids in the Kitchen, Sean Kelly from Models as well as ex Sherbet lead singer Daryl Braithwaite and Wendy Matthews to name but a few who were enjoyed by hundreds picnicing on Steampacket Gardens.
The action wasn’t only on the water the skies were full of action too with flypasts from the RAAF Rouletts, the giant Carlton Draught Beer hot air ballon and the huge Skyshow fireworks display.
Like all Australia Day Weekends the place to be was the The Royal Geelong Yacht Club which partied into the night with a packed lawn of revilers overlooking the colourful flotilla out on the marina.
