An estimated 100,000 people flocked to the shoreline activities that included markets, some great entertainment including plenty of roaming entertainment and stages set up right along the foreshore. One highlight was Tex Perkins and the Ape performing on the Steampacket lawns on Saturday night.
The action on the water was breathtaking with fierce competition all weekend especially on Saturday with good winds and perfect sailing conditions. Sunday and Monday brought warm conditions and the most beautiful blue skies and light breezes making the fleet look stunning on the glistening Corio Bay.
The land and the water were not the only places for action the skies also thrilled spectators with an incredible flying display from the RAAF Roulettes exciting the crowd on Saturday afternoon and the night lighting up on Sunday night with a spectacular fireworks display.
