2011 was the ninth year the Celtic Festival has been held at Portarlington overlooking the beautiful Port Phillip Bay after moving from central Geelong. The line-up was hand picked from around the world including US Celtic Folk group the Solas, Scottish fiddle virtuoso Hanneke Cassel Trip and Irish singer song writer Elanor McEvoy. Liam O Maonla from the popular Hothouse Flowers teamed up with musician and poet Ronan O Snodaigh and Christine Primrose a Gaelic Songstress from the Isle of Skye.
The festival celebrates the Celtic cultures of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, The Isle of Man and Cornwall. It features a huge array of music, poetry and performing arts plus a huge festival atmosphere with markets and lots of fun for all ages.
