The annual Colac Kana Festival saw Murray Street receive a little piece of Australiana with the 2012 procession being themed all things Australian. There was all our favourite icons, Ned Kelly, Dame Edna, Crocodile Dundee, and so many kangroos, koalas, wombats and other native creatures it was so colourful and so much fun as our photos and video will show.
This year the Kana Festival celebrates its 55th year and is one of the biggest festivals held in Colac and attracted hundreds of spectators and many of the Colac region’s schools, emergency services, clubs and community groups.
Following the parade everyone headed to Memorial Park for an afternoon of fun and entertainment making the best of a spectacular Autumn’s day. The park was full of market stalls selling a wide collection of plants, nick knacks, food and other goods. Bands played and many of the classic cars which lead the parade were on show at a show and shine so people could get a closer look.
