Lorne is a great place to fish as there are plenty of spots to pick from, although these can get busy during holiday season. Situated on the mouth of the Erskine River plenty of fish can be found along the river or shorefront.
Popular fish found are trevally, salmon, mullet, leatherjackets, flathead, whiting, snapper and squid. Popular bait used by local fisherman range from Pilchards to pippies.
If you want to get a spot on the pier the early bird catches the fish, large barracouta have been known to be caught from this popular spot.
