The Royal Geelong Yacht Club put on a spectacular display of watercraft for their Wooden Boat Festival which was held over the 2012 Labour Day Weekend at the club.
The festival featured a whole array of historic craft including many that dated back to early last century including whale boats, surf boats and couta boats to name a few. The tall ship Enterprize and a newcommer to our waters the beautiful Portuguese Caravel inspired Notorious were also star attractions and offered tours and sails.
Many tents set up around the Yacht club grounds featured model ships and boats and some work in progress showing amazing skills and craftsmanship. The bay was alive with colour with several competitons on Corio Bay including Couta Boat racing and Heron Series racing and yacht racing while there was plenty of fun back on shore with sausage sizzles, bands and even the odd pirate.
