The 16th bi-annual Avalon Australian International Airshow 2025 soared into Avalon Airport from 25 to 30 March, captivating aviation enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. This year’s event marked one of the largest in its history, featuring 902 exhibitors from 28 nations and approximately 350 aircraft both on the ground and in the air.
Attendees were treated to exhilarating aerial displays, including performances by the Royal Australian Air Force’s F/A-18 Super Hornet and the debut of the F-35A Lightning II. The event also showcased a variety of vintage aircraft, offering a nostalgic glimpse into aviation’s storied past.
Beyond the spectacle, the airshow served as a significant platform for the aerospace and defence industries, facilitating networking and showcasing cutting-edge technologies. The “Geelong Is Home” program highlighted local businesses, underscoring the event’s positive impact on the regional economy.
Despite minor disruptions, including a brief delay due to a stunt plane incident on 28 March, the airshow proceeded successfully, drawing thousands of visitors and reinforcing its status as a premier event in the global aviation calendar.
