The luxury liner MV Seabourn Odyssey visited Geelong on the 23rd of January 2014, docking in Corio Bay on what was a magnificent summer day.
The 200 metre 11 deck ship is cruising around Australia and New Zealand this summer and this visit to Geelong is the first of two planned this season, with the ship returning in February.
First sailing in 2009 the Seabourn Odyssey has 225 luxury suites ranging up to a huge 534 square metres in size and can cater for up to 250 guests. There are 8 guest decks and the ship has a cruising speed of 19 knots. On-board there are some amazing facilities including several restaurants ranging from tasty buffets to the highest of five star dining, there is a pool, observation deck, lavish lounges, plenty of space on the expansive sundecks, a putting green and even shopping. One other luxury highlight is the Spa on Seabourn found on the 9th floor, it is recognized as the largest spa facility on a luxury cruise ship with six treatment rooms, saunas, steam room and even a large hydro pool and Thai massage facility.
